REVISED COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD:

If your business, church nonprofit or social club is putting on an event to help the community, then you can use WIMPEG to get the word out.

We can't promote sales or marketing events but if your business is having an open house, your church has a fund raising event for providing food and shelter for those in need, your club is giving away health checks or glasses... then announce it on WIMPEG.

The WIMPEG cameramen are at every City Council. Just show up early and be ready to have your announcement recorded. Please keep it at less than 60 seconds.

You don't need to reserve time-- just show and go.

Check the City websites for the next Council meeting. Click below to go to the city sites.

PRODUCERS WANTED

Did you know we currently have three WIMPEG producers with their own shows?

Sherry Pittam has been producing for WIMPEG for a few years now. She covers the Christ Church of Monmouth's services. We have schedule space for another church to be on air but it's not possible without the dedication and training like Sherry puts into it.

Terri Gregory is the producer of POLK SALAD: A Bounty Of Conversations. Most people know her as the owner of MaMere's Bed and Breakfast which she uses as the sponsor of her show.

Robert Tomlinson, best known in connection with the Ash Creek Arts Center, produces MI-Kidz. A show interviewing kids in unique situationat that makes viewers really appreciate the creativity and imagination of children.

What does it take to be a producer? WIMPEG puts on training, helps you install free video editing software, shows you how to borrow and use our cameras. So, it takes a monthly commitment and a topic of interest.

Some of the producers even   develop their own theme songs, sponsorship recognition, and video introductions and sign off.

This is an example of Terri Gregory's Polk Salad introduction.

STUDENTS: We work with Central Students for their Senior Project. Contact us for possibilities.

COMMUNITY PROJECT -- PLEASE HELP

Do you have old pictures or can you convert old film to share with WIMPEG? We're working on a video project about the Monmouth Kids' Parade. It's such an All American experience and hardly found any more. Did you grow up participating in the parade? Let us know about it.

How do you send us large files, like video? Use the free version of Dropbox. Click below for how to use it: http://youtu.be/lDdaPBdYYMs

How do you convert old film to a DVD? We have had really good luck using http://www.costcodvd.com/

Just bring us a copy of the DVD and we can use the transferred video.

CHANNEL 17 IS NOW THE WOU CHANNEL. For questions about channel 17, contact Deborah Rezell, WOU Director of Digital Productions Services

CHANNEL 18 IS NOW THE MONMOUTH CHANNEL

CHANNEL 99 IS NOW THE INDEPENDENCE CHANNEL

INGEST STATION. WIMPEG is proud to announce that our Ingest Station is functioning. We can assist in transferring media format. For more information, please click below.

This means if you have an old VHS or VHS-C tape, you can bring it in to transfer to a DVD. Tapes degrade over time and this is a great way to save your precious family memories.

We also have a machine that transfers miniDV tapes to DVD.

We can also transfer cassette tapes and CDs to MP3.

OFFICE HOURS

Our emphasis is on training and making topics of interest available to the community. We have regularly held training sessions and will loan out equipment for you to produce for WIMPEG.

Our training includes how to download and install the free Windows Movie Maker software. We show you how to customize the format to meet WIMPEG specification

WIMPEG does have Mac computers that can be reserved for production. We have installed Final Cut Pro version 6. While we are not currently holding classes on this, we do have installed tutorials on the machines for self-paced learners.

If you already have your own miniDV camera and want to provide video, WIMPEG has a JVC to DVD converter that can help you import your video.

All City Council meetings are edited and are not the authorized record. If you want a legal record of a City meeting, contact the City Recorders by phone or by email just click on their email address below.
